This fish sat motionless for over two minutes, believe me ....it did not survive even though you saw it swim away. Major thumbs down on the handling of an epic fish.

Net should be open when fishing alone, not struggling to get it open. You are lucky you landed that fish....you left way too much to chance. It's nowhere near thirty pounds....it is more like 20.
