I have been metal detecting for about 15 years now. A couple years ago I joined a local club and couldn't believe what everyone else was finding. Up until this point I only metal detected parks and homes that belonged to friends and family. I used to beg the more seasoned hobbyists to take me out and show me how and where to find the good stuff but found that most people preferred detecting by them selves. Eventially I got tired of hunting in parks and with no other options available I started knocking on doors and asking permission. I couldn't believe how my collection has grown now. I take pride in the fact that I can get most people to say yes when I ask. It is now so easy to find the good stuff.
