I didn't personally learn anything ecept that there are some mothers that deserve a special reserved seat in hell, if you ask me. However I can tell that the morale of the story, or what the was the point that the author to across was to no matter how bad your life seems, it could much worser. We take much for granted, not seeing how lucky we are to have what it is we have. For example, in Charlie's case, he was quite unintellengent, however he had a job, friends, he had a love, and he knew he was. Becuase he didn't realize how his life was, he went on with the operation, and lost his job, his friends, his love, and he lost who he was...and then he lost he lost his life in the end. This shows that the author wanted us to understand how good we have it. There's a saying that goes something like (INSERT SAYING HERE). I can't relate this story to my life or anyone's that I know and the book hasn't really changed me, but I supposed it's reminded me to not think that my life or someone I know's life isn't as bad as it seems. It could be much worse.
