I hate Rats too..In the corn crib it is a good place to find them. I also kept the dog with me when inside grinding feed. "Scream"! Yikes, they will climb right up your pant legs if they get close to you...I don't like snakes either..I will mow over them with the lawn mower if possible.

Thats the way us farmers help each other. We have a vaccume pump which we removed from another farm. It is suppose to work fine. You could borrow it for the time being if you want to try it. It is just sitting in the barn not hooked up. My boys want to start up milking someday. Call me Georg...
