Utterly brilliant and frankly pointless to compare them with Pink Floyd. Both are great bands with great music and great moments shared by those of us who love the MUSIC !!!!!!!!!! Love them all !!!!!

This track is up there with Sabbath as a pure diamond encrusted classic. The solo made me shake with excitement and still does!!! The vocals spine chilling too !! The drama, the epic nature of the composition is striven for by many prog metal bands these days and they nearly all fail !!!!!!!!

Enough to make a grown man cry! When i first bought this album it changed my life on the first listen !!!!!!!!!!!! Sad wings of Destiny is up there with Black Sabbath as a metal album of such complete power, beauty and consitency that is deserves World Heritage Status !!!!!!!!!!!

yes, i bought it in 1975 and then got 'Backdoor Possibilities' and 'Increase' after it. All classic albums !!!!!!! A great band fondly remembered !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got the albums at Virgin records in Brighton. Have them on CD now !

Truly, Slash cannot be mentioned in the same sentence as Schenker. As you say , for us back then he blew the guitar world wide open and thankfully has returned to form recently. @viago2 I will give you that....I did think Tom Jones murdered it and David Gilmour's style maybe does not suit the song. It was not a great version in all honesty.

Prince is a pretty mean guitar player in his own right so maybe comparisons were not relevant in this case.

In truth this feaux debate attempts to do the impossible by comparing apples with pears. Lets enjoy all these great musicians for what they do for us....they elevate the soul and for a short while remove us from the ugliness of the world we live in !!!!!!!! I loved this video !!!!!!!!!!!!

This music is intelligent and does not conform to the needs of throw away capitalism. It refuses to be easily packaged and demands something of the listener. It is why we love it and the rest limply follow vapid product that amuses but does not engage.
