@happy543210 GM released the Volt at the exact wrong time. Toyota had very little competition for many years and was able to build up a loyal customer base. Within three years GM will have all sorts of competition to deal with, including possibly India and China, not to mention S. Korea. I hav...

Will there be a model that can use the backup light area? Using a license plate holder that has a backup light would nicely replace the existing backup light. The hitch height should be ideal using that area.

I agree with Neil most of the time but he's uninformed on this topic. As with any new technology, people resist because they are intimidated by anything out of the ordinary. Every Volt on the road with be a rolling advertisement and since it really is a very nice car, it will eventually catch ...

I just leased a Chevy Volt, but I can see going with BYD E6 when my lease is up. I need a minimum of 150 miles on a charge, and even with accessories being used the E6 should do that. I also like the fact that the batteries are below seating, instead of between seats, as in the Volt.

@LonSeidman I installed a dedicated 120v line on my driveway, and I'm thinking of rigging some sort of a retractable cable, with an overhead bracket, so as not to step on the cable when walking past the car. Anyway, I'm tracking the car at the GM site, and it hasn't hit the production line yet. ...

@korona3103 This is why Chevy Volt elected to use only 65% of battery capacity, before switching in the gas generator. I believe the Leaf uses somewhere near 90% of battery capacity, so it's understandable the batteries are being stressed much more on the Leaf. Time will tell. For me, the Volt...

@lgreen5 Have you test driven the Volt? I own one, and it has all the power you would want. In "sport" mode, it blows most cars away off the line. I've owned many hot cars in my 45 years of driving, and the Volt is no slouch. Go take it for a test drive, and you will be surprised.
