About this user

Danielle Palomares, soprano, is currently a fourth-year music major at the University of California, Irvine (UCI); she will graduate with a Bachelor of Music in June 2010. In 2008, as a sophomore, Danielle starred as Monica in Claire Trevor School of the Arts main-stage production of Gian Carlo Menottis The Medium. More recently she was selected to perform at master classes at the Orange County Performing Arts Center for the Metropolitan Opera's Nicole Cabell and for renowned opera director, Franz Boerlage. Danielle maintains an active performance schedule and is currently preparing for her final senior recital, to be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 8 p.m. in Winifred Smith Hall at UCI's Claire Trevor School of the Arts. In the summer of 2010, Danielle hopes to attend the prestigious Amalfi Music Festival in Amalfi, Italy and is currently organizing a concert to help raise the funds needed to attend. At the end of 2010, Danielle will be auditioning at several top graduate schools to continue her vocal studies. Currently, Danielle teaches classical, pop, Broadway, and jazz voice, as well as guitar and piano, for California Music Studios. Formerly, she taught for two years under Creative Connections, a UCI outreach program striving to bring music and art to Orange County elementary schools unable to fund art classes. She also formerly served as a cantor at Corpus Christi Church in Aliso Viejo and at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Huntington Beach. Raised in Monrovia, CA, Danielle was an avid member of the drama and choir programs at Monrovia High School, starring in several musical and dramatic productions including The Sound of Music (as Mother Abbess), Into the Woods (as the Baker's Wife), and Six Degrees of Separation (as Ouisa). A Monrovia High Gold Seal graduate, Danielle received scholarships for UCI from the Monrovia Rotary Club, the Monrovia Schools Foundation, the Monrovia Chapter of the Philanthropic Educational Organization International (P.E.O.), and the Foothill Panhellenic. In her spare time, Danielle is a freelance photographer (visit www.danielleelisephotography.com) and she also enjoys spending time with her family, painting, cooking and roller skating.
