Some good advice. By the way, Hapkido is a great martial art for defending against grabs using joint locks - instead of smashing someone in the face. Self-confidence in the context of knowing how to defend yourself well, will stop a bully from intimidating you.

@sregi22 The idea is to take the impact with your arms instead of your head, neck or back; a broken arm is better than a broken neck!

I didn't like that technique, aswell. The Haymaker is the easiest punch to defend against and there are loads of good martial arts techniques you can use. I do traditional Hapkido and we use very similiar techniques to Krav Maga, yet they seem to make them look more "cooler"!

Isn't the technique at 1:10 inconsistent with Hapkido phylosophy? Blocking a punch dead on like a Karate technique, which is strength vs strength.

There's a technique in Hapkido that's probably more effective: in the same position, the defender rams a finger in the soft part of the neck and then pushes down making a C figure with her finger, like trying to ram your finger down into and down their wind pipe.
