You have been up for 16 hours,
He's been up for 48 straight
You take a warm shower to help you wake up,
The rain in the middle of the intrestate keeps him awake,
You complain about your "headache" and call in sick
He's chilled to the bone, hasnt eaten all day, has the flu, then runs into a burning building

You drink your coffee on the way to the mall
He pumps on a five year olds chest on the way to the hospital

You make sure your cell phone is in your pocket
He makes sure the pass device on is pack is working

You talk trash about your "buddies" when they arnt around
He watches his buddy fall 4 floors through a burning building

You walk down the beach looking at all the pretty girls
He walks down the highway looking for a motorcyclist missing limb

You complain how hot it is
He wears 50 pounds of gear in july and pulls a body out of a 1500 degree flame.

You go out to eat and complain because they got your order wrong
He hasnt seen a meal sence his last shift at breakfast

Your mom makes your bed and washes your clothes
He has worn the same sweaty clothes for the past 24 hours with no time to shower

You get mad because your class ran 5 minutes over
His shift ended 2 hours ago and he goes on for another 24 at a station 30 miles away

You call your girlfriend to make a date tonight
He calls his girlfriend to tell her he mad it back alive only to leave abrubtly 5 minutes later for another fire.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries
He cries when he hears his newborn cry in the hospital but he wasnt there he was pulling a drunk teenager from a smashed car

You hear about fallen firefighters and say he should have known better
He feels the floor give away while carrying an old lady from her room on the 15 floor of a hotel, tosses her across the room as he falls into the unknown

You crawl into your bed with down pillows and get comfy
He tries to get some sleep but is woken by tones, ahh an hour will last till tomorrow night

You yell at him screaming that you pay too much taxes for him to be slow
Hes a Volunteer and doesnt get paid at all to be there saving your house.
