John Snow 7/40 vs Australia- 4th ASHES test SCG 1970/71
Apologies for the sloppy editing, I was tired and just wanted to get this video uploaded as quick as I could! Amazing bowling. VINTAGE FOOTAGE!!!!!!!

Great video.. I remember Ian chappell talking about Snow as one of the best he's faced and the evidence is for all to see. Richie benaud's commentary is refreshingly honest "a pathetic 64/4" as it should be instead of the crap adjectives you hear nowadays

@ElliottsFather Highly doubt it. Pbly one of the toughest shots to play and to hit it when someone is bowling near 90 mph needs almost superhuman reflexes. Also dont forget the bats in those days were nowhere near as good as today. Unless you hit it off the middle it wont fly.

@ramakril From a pitches point of view not every pitch was fast. The big difference was the quality of fast bowling, bouncer rule, bats and generally less protective gear (mainly the helmet). By the 90's the bats had become much better the 1 bouncer rule came in and protective gear became much be...

@noffty1209 Agreed. That shot is trademark richards. It is one of the toughest to play. He almost walks into the shot by getting his feet in line for a clean swing. No amount of coaching can make you play that shot. And whats more if you are a fast bowler a perfectly decent length ball in pitched...

This kind of contest is what seems missing from cricket these days. Hook shot is almost gone out of the game thanks to dead pitches and batsmen's anathema that its "risky". Falling hook shots of Richards, Kanhai and Kallicharan hitting fast bolwers out of the park is something which is sorely mi...
