DAMIEN PHILLIPS BIOGRAPHY

Singer & Songwriter based in the Midlands. Naturally, Damien has an ear for music and harmonies. A near note-perfect tuning, 3 octave vocal range makes him a unique, timeless, and renowned local musician. He has a powerful delivery yet a delicate vocal tone enabling him to seamlessly adapt to any genre including: Disco Motown & Soul, Pop, Dance, Ballads, Opera, Classical, Musicals, etc.

Currently, Damien has been working towards his debut album If Life Was An Hourglass. It's an album of Pop Ballads and up-tempos: All Lyrics and Melodies are written and arranged by Damien Phillips.

It includes the song Blinded By Love - which has already risen in popularity at a recent live performance ( A live recording has been uploaded).

I Ran Away is a haunting Ballad inspired by melancholic Pop songs, and has been compared to the hit song "A Kiss From A Rose". It's a touching song with moody realness.

This is just the beginning of Damien's creativity and talents, he loves writing and production, vocal arrangements and harmonies, working with like minded people on the circuit not forgetting his experienced vocal talent. His versatility and professionalism will be the key to Damien's success ...

Previously, In 2003 Damien was awarded a BTEC National Diploma in Sound Engineering & Music Technology at the Birmingham Academy of Music & Sound. Experienced in setting up levels and microphones for Bands and Singers, monitoring sound levels and basic recording. He understands the basic fundamentals / rudiments of music due to his Grade 2 in Trombone Playing, and experience in performing in a Military Re-enacting Band since the age of ten years old.

In 2004, he appeared as an extra in the Kiera Knightley film Pride and Prejudice as a Period Musician.

In 2005, Damien performed live at the BRMB Roadshow and made regular appearances during 2005-2007 at Sutton Coldfield Carnival; a local charity event.

In 2006, he appeared on a BRMB broadcast performing live the REM classic "Everybody Hurts."

In 2007, Damien played his debut gig in front of 3,000-4,000 people at Bullins, Minehead with the 70s DISCO Band Strictly Groove.
