^!!!^ Porto Alegre, Brazil, since june 2005. Damn Laser Vampires -- Ron Selistre, voice & guitar; Francis K, guitar; and Michel Munhoz, drums -- also known as "Satan's favourite punk-polka trio" -- are a post-punk band that brings elements such as polka, psychobilly, and new wave into a strange ground. Born in 2005 in the cold Porto Alegre city, south of Brazil, they made their debut with the independent EP "The Devil Is a Preacher", which immediately catched the attention of alternative media and brought a new colour to the local underground musical scene. In 2006, released the independent album "Gotham Beggars Syndicate", recorded at Music Box Studios (Porto Alegre). The album has been re-released in the USA and Canada in april 2008, with 13 tracks, by DEVIL'S RUIN RECORDS (devilsruinrecords.com) and distributed in Argentina by Rastrillo Records (rastrillorecords.com.ar). "Gotham..." was indicated by several magazines and websites as one of the best releasings of the year. In five years, the southern Vampires -- who are also illustrators and makes their own videos -- has printed a trademark on brazilian alternative rock universe. They've travelled through the country and played at several important rock n' roll festivals, such as Goiania Noise (Brazil's main indie festival), Psycho Carnival, Gig Rock, Macondo Circus, Morrostock Open Air, Rock Jr, Décalage, etc; jumped to the pages of brazilian Rolling Stone magazine, Rue Morgue Magazine (Canada), and Virus (main horror-culture mag in Europe), among many others; put four tracks on "Still Orangutans" (Milano Film Festival 2008 award-winning as best movie). In 2009 the band was directed by New Zealand cult filmmaker David Blyth in a short horror movie produced by FANTASPOA (International Fantastic Film Festival of Porto Alegre -- fantaspoa.com). O "trio de punk-polka favorito de Satã" surgiu em junho de 2005 em Porto Alegre com o EP "The Devil Is a Preacher". O álbum "Gotham Beggars Syndicate", de 2006, relançado nos Estados Unidos e Canadá em 2008 pelo selo norte-americano Devil's Ruin Records, e distribuído também na Argentina, foi apontado por diversos veículos de imprensa como um dos melhores lançamentos do ano.

A Damn Laser Vampires foi destaque na revista Rolling Stone (Brasil), na canadense Rue Morgue Magazine (por duas vezes: em 2008 e 2010, na edição comemorativa nº 100); teve resenha do álbum na alemã Virus Magazine (principal revista de horror da Europa, publicada em todos os países de língua germânica), além de muitas outras publicações especializadas (Noize, Void, etc); participou de importantes festivais pelo Brasil como Goiânia Noise, Psycho Carnival, Gig Rock, Macondo Circus, Morrostock Open Air, Rock Jr, Décalage, entre outros, além de ter tocado em diversas capitais por todo o país (Brasilia, Goiânia, São Paulo, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, Belém do Pará).

A banda tem 4 músicas na trilha do filme "Ainda Orangotangos" (Melhor Filme no Festival de Cinema de Milão 2008), de Gustavo Spolidoro.

Atuando também como artistas gráficos, os Vampires realizaram exposições de arte sob o nome da banda.

Em julho de 2009, por ocasião da 5ª edição do Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantástico de Porto Alegre (FANTASPOA), a banda foi dirigida pelo neozelandês David Blyth num videoclipe/curta-metragem musical a ser apresentado em 2011.

Os Vampires anunciam para breve o lançamento do aguardado segundo disco, agora pela trinca Terrötten Records/Cauterized Productions/Mamma Vendetta Records. "Three-Gun Mojo" foi gravado no Caffeine Soundstudio em SP e produzido por Marco Butcher e Luis Tissot. Uma das treze músicas, "That Thing You Have" (já disponível no MySpace), está na trilha do filme "Trantastic" da ScUMBAG Movies (San Diego).
