The LORD came from Sinai
and dawned from Seir upon us;
he shone forth from Mount Paran;
he came from the ten thousands of holy ones, with flaming law at his right hand. (Deuteronomy 33:2)
But when the fullness of time had come,
God sent forth his Son,
born of woman,
born under the law,
to redeem those who were under the law,
so that we might receive adoption as sons. (Galatians 4:4-5)
God's promised Messiah, who was predestined and foreknown before the foundation of the world, has come into the world: the man Jesus of Nazareth. He, like Adam, was the image of God but unlike Adam, he did not regard equality with God to be something to be grasped at; but rather, he emptied himself by taking the form of a slave, accepting the lot given unto men and was made to be like what men are. He humbled himself further and died upon the cross in order to achieve victory over death and defeat it once and for all. Due to his obedience, God raised him from the dead and gave him the glory which Adam forfeited. This risen and glorified man is the image of God unto which all men ought to be conformed into. God has made this one man the judge of all and he will come again and establish his kingdom on earth. It was God's good pleasure to sum up all things in heaven and on earth in one man, the man Jesus the Messiah.
