Damage Control NYC is a revolutionary dancehall reggae group based out of Brooklyn NY bringing musicians, dancers, promoters & DJs under a single umbrella. It is the brain child of four Brooklyn based artist who decided to bring together their creative efforts to create a force and dominate their local market. The group includes members of the now defunct Back to Basic Dancers and Delete Dem Crew. Currently there are 10 members, Fire Ras, Da War Professa, Dappa, Razor, Kolors, Dus, Jigga, Dingles, Repo, Frass.

It was started when Fire Ras realized that there was no unity within the dancehall community in Brooklyn. He then decided to reach out to their fellow friends and family (such as Back to Basic Dancers & Delete Dem Crew) who were a part of the entertainment industry, who also agreed that something needed to be done. An emergency meeting was called to discuss the status of the dancehall industry in New York and from that meeting Damage Control was formed.

The idea for the group came after Fire Ras had hosted several weekends of freestyle sessions in November 2007, with his fellow musicians. He also had a conglomerate of other talented individuals who specialized in other skills such as DJing and promoting. Seeing this is sat down with a former member to plan their course of action. It took them a month of planning and organizing to determine what Damage Control was going to be. Because of the busy schedule of the groups involved, including Back to Basic, Delete Dem Crew. The planning of the meeting was delayed until December 31st, 2007 and the group was officially formed on January 1st, 2008.

Since the launch in January 2008, the group has worked on several tracks like Come Cross, Tonite, Damage Control and War in Stock. They have been working very closely with established and upcoming engineers like, The Architeks, Jamala Ent and Xyclone. The group has played host to numerous radio interviews and a few television interviews aired on CIN. Also, the group was chartered to do a song for the recently deceased Raw Dawg who was on the rise before he was brutally killed. The group did two tribute songs which were very well received by friends, family and other members of the Brooklyn Dancehall community.

Currently, the group is working on a enjoying regular rotation of their break out hit song "Pop My Guinness" on local radio stations and is preparing mixtape for the summer. They are scheduled to appear on several shows in and around the Tri-State region as well as Jamaica this summer. They are working with popular Brooklyn DJs such as Kolors Sound, Seduction Vibes and Royalty Sounds just to name a few, to further a saturate their music in Brooklyn, New York City and eventually the World.
