About this user

I am Dalia Rawson, Artistic Director and the primary choreographer for The Rawson Project Contemporary Ballet. Recently I was awarded a Fellowship by the New York Choreographic Institute, an affiliate of the New York City Ballet.

From 1991-2006 I performed principal and soloist roles as a dancer with Ballet San Jose. Over the past few years I have fallen in love with the process of creating new choreography. I have choreographed works for Ballet San Jose and Ballet San Jose School, and in early 2010 I founded The Rawson Project Contemporary Ballet in order to create new, topical works using classical dance technique and vocabulary. I often work in collaboration with my brother composer Cliff Rawson.
