Born during the cold of winter in Brooklyn, NY, Steven was influenced by music throughout his childhood. He quickly discovered what he liked and didn't and would often run for cover when his mother would play the musical styling of Johnny Mathis and other artists. He was however drawn to the hit TV series "The Monkeys" and decided at age seven that he would be a rock-n-roll guy. Fast-forward a decade + and we find Steven in a suit with a business degree and a pile of stress and disenchantment with the corporate world. After signing up for guitar lessons, he got back to his roots and once again decided to pursue his dream of being a Monkey. His blind guitar teacher Al Delruso quickly had him making quality noise on the six string. He quit his job, moved in with his very unpleased parents and spent his days playing guitar studying music and writing songs. He then embarked on several cross-country journeys continuing to write and live off his corporate earnings. After a year stint in San Francisco, he moved back to the east coast and started the band Live Room with good friend and amazing drummer Brandon Revilla behind the kit. After two years he once again found himself sitting on a bar stool alone in the rehearsal studio looking at his reflection in a large mirror appropriated from a local karate dojo. He wondered out loud, will I ever be a Monkey? Then one day the phone rang and Justin Malo walked into his life. An eclectic artist himself, the two musicians had a five-year run as the band nomadic design with cohorts Dave Zuckerman "moto", Dave Ferraro "flaunk" and Eric Novod "rice". The band toured the east coast and did a two-week run in the USVI. A learning experience it was! Young Steven had found that he was quite the band leader/manager. Booking and promoting for nomadic throughout its long run left him with several grey hairs but much needed experience. Alas in 2003, once again, he was left to play with himself in a studio he had constructed in his basement in NJ. Then, in Feb. 2005 Joshua Mooers walked into the music store and thus began a two year run as the abajo. By far his favorite project to date. A project so exicting, that both Brandon and Justin decided to join forces and transform this once acoustic outfit into Quest Theory. The rockinreggaegrass supergroup that is sure to overtake the music world and inspire for generations to come. Since then, Steven has gotten much closer to becoming the monkey of his dreams. Several tours of the west coast, another run in the USVI and future tours in California and the USVI planned, have this once lost five year old from Brooklyn, closer to reaching his dream of having bananas whenever he likes and playing his music for smiling faces across the globe! Ever shifting ever changing the people that I play with all inspire and add to my music..... Live Room, nomadic design, the abajo, Quest Theory and various egg shaking girls out there.....
