Jessica discusses plank position, push-ups, and abs.

Hi my name is Jessica Flores. I'm with Aerial Revolution. This is my model Laura. We are going to demonstrate proper plank position, and working through push-up, and also an abdominal exercise down here as well. So let's come down towards the floor Laura. First thing that I like you to do is come onto the knees. We're going to reach our hands out on the floor. We are going to extend our body slightly forward, shoulders above the hands, lifting the belly, and so the spine is flat. She's going to flatten the hips as well, so leaning her hips slightly forward to make a nice straight line. Okay so from head to hips one straight line. Now go ahead and demonstrate a good push-up here. We're going to draw elbows in on the push-up, keeping that same flat position. You're thinking chest down towards the floor. Maybe we can go for one more. Elbows come in, draw in towards the body, and you are going to stop when your shoulders are in line with the elbows. You don't want to go down too far. You can put a little bit of damage in the shoulder that way. Excellent job. Now the next thing we can do is tuck the toes and come up to a true plank position or push up position. So same things here. You're going to pull the naval in to make that nice long flat body, keeping the hips slightly down so that the tailbone slightly tucked under. A common mistake you see with push-ups are that people drop their belly towards the floor allowing for this pressure in the low spine, so that's really unhealthy for you. So lifting the belly in and up. Then you also will notice the shoulders are directly over her hands and not forward or back from that position. Okay so keeping the head nice and straight as well to somewhat release the muscles in the neck, you don't want to bend your head too far forward or up. And she's going to go ahead and again attempt a push-up here. So elbows coming in towards the sides, only stopping at that level position where the elbows are parallel with the shoulders. Okay one more. Excellent job. And then dropping the knees back towards the floor. Good, coming up off the arms. So we'll do one more exercise. We're going to do a plank position on elbows. So we'll begin from knees as a modified start. So coming down to forearms, you'll want your hands spread out on the floor to help you balance a little bit better. We're again pulling the belly in, keeping our body nice and straight. And this is a more static position, so if our head is nice and straight forward, you're looking down towards the floor as a neutral gaze, and pulling the belly in, really feeling like you're constantly working on abdominal strength here. Okay excellent. And then go ahead tuck in the toes in plank position, dropping the heels back away from the body, creating that longer line once again, and static hold. Make sure you're breathing here. See if you can hold this thirty seconds to a minute. Excellent. And coming up to standing. So those are our plank series. I would like to thank our sponsor MODA by Sofia and encourage you to visit our website at www.aerialrevolution.com. Thank you.

Kristi Toguchi performs the Straight Jacket Escape. Thank you to Destineak for creating a new character for me. It was so much fun doing something different. MAHALO! to the Amazing Gene Greenwood for the amazing direction & Cinematography! Here is a very different take on how I usually perform the straight jacket. This is more dark....more scary. Think, the grudge.
