I can't think of anything more asinine (not counting U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder) than overlaying a discordant soundtrack to another's already-heralded sequence. It is one of the worst forms of wannabe-ism. If I was Peter Jackson, I'd sue.

@mrsmelzbad Custer's Last Stand was reconstructed with metal detectors, bullets and casings matched to their firing rifles. A B&C ambush bullet might be a little harder to authenticate (let alone find), but still quite doable, I think.

Sure could use this stuff here in Mississippi. Crooks built our one-floor ranch on a slab that poured too thin and on poorly prepared clay and the foundation and walls are slowly breaking apart. But say "geopolymer" to a U.S. civil engineer or builder and they will look at you funny.

I have been reading about geopolymer concrete and cement being used for some 25 years now--in other countries. What is it that makes American engineers and civil planners so bullheaded and so resistant to new technologies?

@SharkDude1 Any firing, drawing or explicit readying of a weapon by an officer of the law is reviewed as a matter of routine policy. Things that happen off-camera or off-audio can change the whole legal issue.

These started showing up at my mom's house in Ellisville (Miss.) in '07. Never saw them there or anywhere around there before. Now they're all over her place. I think they hitchhiked here from Mobile AL during my visits. They've definitely cut down on the roaches, and we don't see many of those ...

I think this started in Scandinavia as a college initiation thing. Teams see who can tie their clothes together in the longest line. There's no cheating, though. Nudity's kind of a regular thing over there.

Down here in Mississippi in the summer, shine a flashlight out over the lawn and you can spot all the wolf spiders by their eyes sparkling blue-green. Got some big ones here, like one-third-scale tarantulas. No stink bugs yet though, except for the native kind.

Always something nasty coming here from frigging China. Blight fungus killed all our chestnut trees. Some beetle wiping out more trees. Now this gawdawful thing to stink up our houses and wipe out our crops. Wtf is up with China?

"Evil Clown" has been there since the 1950s, when it rotated on an electric motor. That SAVE sign was originally a ball on a kind of sceptre held in the clown's hand--which explains his nowadays somewhat rude appearance. Never frightened me as a child, as I had likely gotten used to seeing him ...
