@Biklar @maliolani This is a National - it was 25 or 30 years ago when we got it, so unfortunately I don't remember how much it cost. But it was a lot at the time for an appliance. There's a Tiger brand mochi making machine listed on amazon.com for $260, and I'll bet the larger Japanese special...
