It is truly amazing how young children 'take' to technology. Is there too much of a gap now between how they grow up learning at home and how the classroom teaches? Or should access to technology be regulated to keep them focused on curriculum rather than the vehicle? Or do these students not ...

It is good to hear about options available to students with a visual impairment, especially practical tips about light and fonts, etc. Teachers can sometimes feel overwhelmed by 'inclusion' in the mainstream classroom, thinking they have to know it all about every different special need out ther...

I love the phrase "be the change". Those of us who have had the priviledge of exposure to technology training in University need to ensure that we are the stimulus for change once we get 'out there' teaching. So many teachers already strapped for time just don't even know where to start with al...

I love your words..."to give them a power other than violence...", it is so true that we need to offer an alternative, another way to be strong. Education is the key, and using technology to show them that there is more to this world than their awful experiences is a channel for hope. You have ...

This is a very powerful iVideo. As a parent it scares me to death! As a teacher I love the challenge you put to us - are we watching? It is vital that we educate our students on safe internet use, and communicate with parents about this issue too. Schools are generally so 'blocked' that it is...

I think LaureyB23 has hit the nail on the head. When Alan talked about getting alongside colleagues, students or peers, he was demonstrating his belief that they could 'do it'. His demonstration of his belief that they were 'worth the effort' that he put into them is a key factor in setting stu...
@neets7427 Thanks Anita. It is so important that students can see the purpose in anything they are learning, but especially so with LOTE. Otherwise, they will often 'give up' as they see no real world benefit.
