My Storys half told

Though my years i have seen so many things
To my heart joy and pain the memories bring
Im To old to be young but to young to be old
Im right in the middle my storys half told

The years slip away not only the days
And i miss in my heart the old fashion ways
The people long gone are always with me
I close my eyes and there faces i see

Aunt Kate sets with a pot by the side of the fire
Peeling potatos she was the best cook by far
Uncle Aaron is moving his trailer along
Never in one place did he stay very long

Granny and bobos are having a row
She was always my grannys number one gal
Old Joe stockins is singing a song
With his wife Emily singing along

Old skordy and loui would do a boot sale
Their busy old hands are put to rest now
Old charlottes Henry could fight with the best
Many gypsy man has put him to test

the years so quickly have seem to roll on
You dont stay a tickna for very long
with kits louis gal kitty id run star lane site
And come home to me mother a proper eye sight

Old renolds i thought was one of the best
Me and kitty would get in his trailer and make it a mess
Hed find us and always shoo us away
But never with a smack did we have to pay

The years went by, I got prettier the older i grow
i was a good looking girl and its true that i know

Id walk Epsom downs looking my best
And i knew that the boys were very impressed

Id be with my cousins and wed go on the rides
Now there all married and living their lives
But still up the downs we sometimes will meet
The faces are so changed of some that i greet

I guess that its true that were all getting old
The best half of our story as already been told

My little goldfinch

My little goldfinch sherrymarie, Im proud as I can be,
When you sing your heart out, and you say you sing for me.
You stated as a baby, you were maybe just two or three,
Singing little nursery rhyme you always sang for me.

Then one day you sang in public, and I saw you shine,
And I saw your bright future, clearly in my mind.
I knew one day a singing star, you would surly be,
For on a stage I knew for sure, you where born to be.

Now for just a little girl, you have a lot of fame,
All across the country, they already know your name.
Everywhere you go, people point and stare,
And I hear them whisper, thats her other there.

Now I know there are better singers, for no one is the best,
But what ever singer steps to you, youll give a good contest.
Ive heard the best of singers, singing pop and rocknroll,
Singers that sing country, I think Ive heard them all.
But my little goldfinch, Id put you too the test,
Give you any kind of song, and you will give it all your best.

You have a great big talent, its clear for all too see,
But you never brag, and that pleases me.
You have made a lot of friends; youre liked by ever one,
Because you have a great big heart, and your lots of fun.

You really are a sweetie, your kind to all you meet,
And for me to hear you sing, it really is a treat.
Im so proud of your talent, its clear for all to see.
But most of all my goldfinch, Im proud as I can be,
Because the sweetest person, youve turned out to be.
