About Me:

Thanks for all the comments, subscriptions and questions. There are a few common questions I get asked so I thought I'd just throw some of that information here so curious people can get it right here

What is your name?
Cory

How old are you?
24

Where are you from?
The great state of Oklahoma

What kind of guitar do you have?
Well, the one that I play the most in these videos is a Takamine eg531sc. I honestly am not good at all with guitar brands/styles. I actually have to look around on a guitar to find out which model I have.. it's kind of sad, I know

Where do you get your tabs?
I don't, generally. They just come to me in a dream-like state. Actually, I just play by ear. I don't play songs 100% correctly and I do a lot of random improvising on top of the basic chord progressions so.. I may not play the same song the same way everytime

Do you play any shows?
Nothing but what you see here. I mean, I might play somewhere if the opportunity arises but I just wouldn't know what to play. So I tend to avoid the idea of doing shows. I know it sounds weird from someone who has YouTube videos posted, but I am really not trying to get noticed or signed or anything. I like people to hear the music I play, but I don't see a career in music on the horizon. I actually have a career already in computer science (I got my degree from OU in case there are any Sooner fans watching... or, more likely, Sooner-haters)

Did you take guitar/singing lessons?
Nope... and for people who have, I think they notice that I haven't. I learn things better if I teach myself. Looking up guitar tabs online helped me learn basic chords. I'd recommend to anyone who is just starting out to learn some basic music theory (chords, keys, scales, all that good stuff) before diving in. It makes a difference in the way you see what you are playing and what you hear when you listen to a song

Do you have a CD/are your songs available for download?
Nope. Since I'm not trying to be a musician, I wouldn't charge anyone for my little amateur recordings. Here's a good website for you http://www.listentoyoutube.... This is a good way (at least it seemed to work ok for me the few times I tried it) to extract audio from a YouTube video as an mp3 file. As far as originals go, there are a few tracks on myspace that should be available for download

Do you take requests?
Well, the best way I can answer that is to say "sometimes"... it always just depends on the song and what songs I feel like I can do something a little different with

Do you have MSN/AIM/some other random chat program?
Well, I do, but the only time I really use it anymore is for work

Well I've covered as many bases as I can think of, but if you have a question not answered here, feel free to send me a message.

Cory! #1) You are amazing and I'm pretty sure about 2,000 of the views for "Light In Your Eyes" from Blesside Union of Souls is from me. #2) Do you think there's any chance of you putting your cover of Matchbox 20's "Mad Season" back online? It was my second favorite cover of yours, and as much as I love MB20, I probably like your rendition of Mad Season even a little bit better *gasp* Pllleeeaaassseeee? =)
