n a move that hasn't been seen since his first appearance in New Mutants and a one off appearance in Deadpool, Cable & Deadpool is a series that reunites the time-travelling freedom fighter and the merc with a mouth. In this series, Cable and Deadpool are paired up as unwitting partners when Cable recreates his floating utopia as a sanctuary to humanity. However, when he used Deadpool's blood to cure the human race of a virus that homogenized their appearances in the first story arc, it had a side effect that forces Deadpool to teleport along with him whenever he uses the "Bodyslide" teleport system.

At its core, Cable & Deadpool is a comedy series with dramatic undertones, generally coming from Cable. Although there are elements of drama, it's generally overwhelmed by the constant wackiness that Deadpool radiates. This has brought some criticism from fans of the character from his monthly series, who say that he has degenerated into a quip machine without personality. Several of the issues raised in the old Deadpool series like his indecisiveness regarding whether or not he's a hero or a villain and his overwhelming insecurity over his appearance and privacy.
