About Me:
Everything you hear is performed live and simultaneous by CrowdedBEATS on a custom-built acoustic drumkit with controllers, mixingdesk and Laptop using Ableton Live 8 as the Master software to manipulate both the music and real time drum processing fx. "Hybrid ideas (the mixing of styles) have always had a big impact on me," says CrowdedBEATS. "At the end of the sixties Miles Davis fused jazz and rock for the first time during the legendary Bitches Brew sessions. This was a big inspiration for me, later followed by Weather Report and the Zawinul Syndicate, bands that mixed jazz, rock and world music.
Now in the first decade of the 21st century, I feel it's time to make a new hybrid music. A lot of music that people listen and dance to is electronic music created by DJs. Basically they are producers that program, sequence and remix. I come from a different background. I am a musician (drummer/composer), but it's my desire to use some of the ideas from this electronic culture, but in a new context: with real instruments and electronics that are controlled live on the spot. I hope people can relate to it, because it sounds a bit like what they already heard. On the other hand I want to broaden their horizons with this new approach and with the progressive ideas I develop live on the stage!"
