CROSSROADS AFRICA-SHOWING COMPASSION THROUGH ACTIONS!

WHAT DO WE DO? We give a helping hand to those living in three developing African countries: Zimbabwe, South Africa and Kenya. In Africa, there are no food stamps, no welfare programs, and no free public education. Thus, the poor are REALLY poor and sometimes a helping hand in the form of educational supplies or an aspirin for pain can give a person hope to live another day!

WHY THE NAME -- Crossroads Africa? Most people arrive at an uncomfortable crossroads at some point in life. They can either GO FORWARD or TURN BACK; we chose to go forward, to travel down the road littered with poverty, illness, and deplorable living conditions to offer assistance. While we are a faith-based organization and believe that faith in Jesus Christ offers ultimate healing and peace, we realize that for those less fortune, life can be very hard. This gives us a wonderful opportunity to show compassion that action.

WHAT WE DO -- We go on "Compassion Expeditions" to locate isolated, rural schools, clinics, or people groups that receive no assistance from government or other aids agencies. Our adventures take us to remote and beautiful places in Africa where we meet remarkable people of courage.

On our latest 2007 Adventure, our team, Dan and Paula Taylor, and Stan Frederick, spent months traveling in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Kenya. They discovered groups where receiving immediate help, costing no more than $50US, was the difference between life and death. This gives a completely new meaning to the "must have" latest cell phones or MP3 players sought after by most of us.

Crossroads African offers is a simple way for individuals, churches, schools, or community organization to make a personal difference. We are a tax-deductible organization and grateful for any donation of time money or talents-no matter how large or how small.
