regardin the schmuck, i thing it's not worth going on with him... it tires me at last.. same happens in professional forums here... I cannot believe what some gynaecologists say... it seems they like in the '60 still... in contraception it's sacry and SO dangerous. And in fertlity is unfair, because I made my post-doc in fertility, and did a lot of FREE hospital years (20) and some of these wise-assess just medicate patients and make them loose time, and then they're over with fertility. And not all accept ovodonation... So... it's frustrating... Today I had a bad day besides... so... I'll have a glass of nice wine and have dinner.. Bye, get well

very interesting your "road" in medicine.. mental health proffesionals are quite crazy mostly Very few have therapy themselves, and very often they self medicate... Neurosciences sounds very good, but hellishly difficult... And Neurology... I almost get into it, but it was "diagnose= corticosteroids or antibiotics" That's it (1985) I'm happy with what I do now.. It's not easy and medical systems are cancer for medicine, but you cannot live without them... at least here.. Fertility is nice, and rewarding when you have a success, but as women tend to look for prenancy very late in life now, over 35 most of them, it gets very frustrating at times, even if it an be good in the money area.. Hope you're getting better...

You've found some with 10 neurons?!? How fortunate and lucky are you? Better go out and buy a lottery ticket. The stars must be lined up in your favour!!! All fun aside, there is a legitimate educational role that can be played on these blogs. I and probably most clinicians only correspond with peers. Reaching out to others does have merit, don't you think? Or not? In the case of the sensationally talented Amy Winehouse, such efforts "might" facilitate an exploration and identification of the relevant facts surrounding her medical profile. I for one believe that the credibility and integrity of the Amy Winehouse Foundation is predicated on demonstrating "transparency" on all the facts, problem-solving and decision-making involved in treating Amy's condition. Any thoughts?

Do you think a response to "greatmovieclips" has value? He seems to be obesessed with historical antecedents and has adopted a more-or-less Darwinian approach to judging others -- and in this case Amy. He sounds like an elderly person who is very set in his ways. I could write a humerous response if you like but a scholarly foray would be out of his reach and probably make him defensive. Or, I can direct a comment to you that INDIRECTLY addresses his gobbledygook? Let me know.

If you have any questions, fire away. or if you still want to address "greatmovieclips" comments let me know. Be happy to give you a hand. Incidently, I caught the "flu" yesterday so I'm a little more available right now than I normally am. Take advantage of me!

I have no idea if you're getting my messages. You Tube's software needs to be re-programmed. I'm an MD who did not complete his residency in psychiatry. I was 2 years in and decided to pull out when I realized there was too much bickering over labelling patients and not enough focus on treatment and outcome. To add the misery, I found that large numbers of psychiatric staff were also taking various psychiatric medications. They were working in that field vicariously working through their own problems. I needed to get out. So I went on to complete a PhD in Neurosciences and was recently asked to to do a residency in neurology. Not sure if I want this.

I'm taking the initiative to discuss this with you FIRST. The prevailing public understanding of addictions/mental health "generally" reflects attitudes that existed 40 years ago. In fact, Amy's specific case, and the public perception of her life (including her addictions) is a "snapshot" of the human condition. Ignorance abounds -- and it compromises democratic principles, decision-making and public policy. Addictions/mental health areas are traditionally underfunded because of the stigma, the negative stereotype associated with the general public's perception of those areas. Trying to offset that ignorance can be a HUGE undertaking because the attitudes have become so deeply ingrained. "Rigid' attitudes are difficult to work with and all too frequently result in conflict (even on the internet!!!!!). It's one main reason why humans as a species are probably not destined to survive.
