Hello everyone, my name is Cristina and I just recently started baking cakes and decorating them with "Fondant". I'll have to say, I am hooked....!! Decorating a cake in fondant is and artistic expression and I am really enjoying it. I've never taken a class, instead have spent alot fo time on YouTube watching and learning the different techniques on how to work with fondant. I hope you enjoy my videos and i also wish to inspire others who would like to try it out on their own but don't really know were to start, just YouTube it and have fun learning!!!

Hello again, when I saw this on Mayens page, I though, WHAT A GREAT IDEA....to post most frequent questions right on the page...(Mayen, this is a great idea to share what we've learned from others!!)

Ok, here it goes, some of my most frequest questions:

1)WHAT FONDANT DO U USE?

I am currently using McCalls Fondant and Satin Ice Fondant.

2)HOW DID U GET STARTED????

I started by wanting to make a cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday. (Poodle Cake) so I watched ALOT of YOUTUBE videos and received alot of support and knowledge from our friend MAYEN...she's has been a great inspiration. I went to MICHAELS, purchased the book called "Celebrate With Fondant" by wilton, and in the back of the book you will find a step by step guide on how to get started, the basics and all the supplies that u will need, but I never took a Wilton class only because I strickly wanted to work with Fondant so I though I would just try it out on my own first.

3)How do u stack a cake?

Stacking, Filling, Covering, Coloring Fondant cakes are all covered in the Wilton Book!!! Highly recomended for beginners....its even has charts for how much Fondant to use for the size of cake u are covering aswell as recipes....

4)Airbrush...Where did u get it??

I got my brush from CHICAGO AIRBRUSHES....here is the link to my set. You will need the brush as well as the compressor:
