Crisanto Santa Ana better known as "Dj Deprave" is one of the most influential dj/producer to emerge in the underground scene both in the San Diego and Orange County areas. His skills range from beat making to rhyming, but his cup of tea is definitely turntablism.

Born February 10th, 1980 in the Philippines, Crisanto was raised in Long Beach, later moved to Orange County and eventually finished school in San Diego. He got his first taste of the hip hop culture in the early 90s which was an era considered to most as the "Golden Age" of hip hop.
Growing up he steered away from the dangers of the streets through music.

After being introduced to break-dancing and the b boy culture, he quickly transitioned to becoming a dj because he wanted to make his own mix for other b boys to dance to. He was heavily influenced by many djs such as Qbert, Shadow, Revolution and The Beat Junkies.

Crisanto's djing skills were recognized as early as 1998. In 2001 he moved to San Diego and released his first mix tape, "Tried By 1200s", a 60 minute blend of his favorite vinyls which showcased his mixing and scratching abilities. He quickly acquired popularity by being the live dj for many local hip hop groups in the San Diego and Orange County areas. He eventually evolved into a beat maker and started producing albums for many undiscovered talents.
His abstract instrumentals and unique scratching techniques has created a steady demand for his collaboration. He has shared the stage with many known hip hop acts such as, Arrested Development, Aceyalone, Beatnuts, M.F. Doom, and Atmosphere, just to name a few.

From Digging in the crates to Downloading Mp3's, Dj Deprave has experienced the evolution of turntablism. He continues to expand his music doing live shows, producing albums, finding raw talent and helping other musicians further evolve themselves as an artist.
