CRESST is a university-based research center located on the UCLA campus. The center, part of UCLA's Graduate School of Education & Information Studies, has more than 100 employees, including researchers, research assistants, graduate students, and staff. At any given time, CRESST is involved with more than 30 research or evaluation studies, funded by a broad variety of government, non-profit, and for-profit organizations. CRESST research staff and partners serve on numerous national and international committees including the World Educational Research Association, American Educational Research Association, American Psychological Association, National Research Council, and many others.
The CRESST mission is to conduct research studies and program evaluations that lead to improved learning and achievement for children, adolescents, and adults. The use and impact of technology infuses virtually all CRESST work. While well-known for K-12 education R&D, CRESST has expanded into new areas in recent years, including the use of games and advanced instructional methods to support medical, military, pre-K and college-level learning.
