During the past three decades, our society has been transformed from what was known as an industrial-, to what we now call an information-, knowledge- or media society. This rapid change has revolutionized our lives and presented new and greater demands on us to adapt and live up to. Apart from the old requirements of good skills and high competence, now -- according to employers, researchers and politicians -- we must also be creative in our work. Today, creativity is one of the most important and most sought after qualities of productive people in our society.

With the textbook "Creativity" we present a universal definition of creativity and comprehensively explain its origin and nature.

It complements and enhances what has been written about creativity in the past 50 years and it introduces a fundamental and universal base, from which a further development of "Creativity Science" is possible.

It is solely scientifically based and has no references to any particular religious, philosophical, ethnical, or ethical background.

This makes it a suitable tool for introducing "Creativity Science" as a school subject on a global basis and on all education levels, from High schools to Universities.
