I'm an asthmatic on disability for several health problems. On a Thursday, the water heater burst spilling gallons of smelly water all over the floor of the bathroom. By Saturday, I was having problems breathing. I had headaches, a low grade fever, throat pain, a dry cough, sinus pain. We expressed our concerns to management about the possibility of mold. Maintenance came to check with a flashlight and said mold wasn't possible. I got sicker. I ended up in the emergency room. When we complained after that, the manager and maintenance man came to look at the apartment and said it didn't smell like mold and we'd see it crawling up the walls. I finally called the property management company and the carpet cleaning company came the next day only to find moisture in our walls.
