@aPOTg Metal never stemmed from punk. Black Sabbath came out almost a decade before the first punk song, and Judas Priest was making music around the same time as The Sex Pistols. Hardcore was an offshoot of punk rock with bands such as Black Flag and Bad Religion.

This is not metal. This is an overproduced metalcore/post-hardcore band. If you want to listen to actual metal listen to bands like Cannibal Corpse, Slayer, Testament, Death, Celtic Frost, Nile, Megadeth, Morbid Angel and so on.
