I don't check my inbox very often, so I'm really late. You probably found the best book already.
But if you haven't I would suggest Tao of Jeet Kune Do by Bruce Lee. It has everything you need to know about martial arts. The illustrations aren't that great, but I really enjoyed his philosophy.
It also his routine and the main concepts that must be mastered.
