Now, was this load also interchangeable with the pistol load (.32-20 on a .45 frame) made famous by Robert Johnson (.32-20 Blues)?

.32 -20 (on a .45 frame) refers to a high powered pistol load. .38 Special is a higher caliber, but not near as hot a load. This, of course, means nothing to 90% of anyone listening. Just trying to put a little context into Mr. Johnson's lyrics.

RJ is just singing "size isn't everything."

There's a certain dissonance in the harmonies here that just cries out for resolution; I think that's what makes this such a satisfying piece of music for me. YMMV
