I am a communist of the Marxist variety, with a few of my own ideas thrown into the mix. I believe that Communism must NOT be nationalized, it is a global movement that must remain global. National Socialism is destined to fail because it attempts to nationalize socialism, a global idea. The proletariat far outnumbers the Bourgeoisie, all but the fat cat CEOs and Chairmen of the Board are of the Proletariat.
We must not replace a world of capitalist nations with one of communist states, the state must be destroyed and humanity united, rather than a simple transition of national capitalism to national communism

Communism, not Collectivism
Both have the idea of : from everone according to their ability, To everyone according to their need.
However the difference comes in how this is obtained
Communism seeks to make no man a slave to any other man by any means. It seeks to end the world of wage slavery that we live in today, to make all men free.
Collectivism seeks to make all men slaves to all men.

Possibly the biggest mistake in modern politics it the spectrum of "left" and "right". to visualize where communism is politically, it is better to see politics as a triangle. On each vertex of this triangle sits a group. These groups are the people, the government, and the corporations. The standard model of left and right is represented by the line between the corporations and the government, with the corporations on the right, and government on the left. Communism is often placed on the "left" because of historical leanings of pseudo-communists, such as the Soviets and Chinese. True communism does not fit on the Government or Corporations line, as it is near the People's vertex, which is not represented on the left right spectrum.
With the concept of Left and Right abolished, a further and more detailed look can be taken at different political parties. The American Republican party, in theory, would sit closer to people than government, and closer to corporations than people. The democratic party, however, would sit closer to people than corporations, and closer to government than people. Simply put, the Republicans tend to screw the government and people and give power to corporations, while the Democrats tend to screw the people and corporations, and give power to the government. In our current political system, the people are screwed either way. Communism, in theory, would take power from the government and the corporations and give it to the people, far from the Pseudo-communism of the CCCP and China!

Fanaticism
Fanaticism towards any idea perverts the idea itself. Worse than counter-revolutionaries are communists who interpret communism as if it is some religion requiring fanatical and unquestioning devotion. Fanaticism allowed Stalin to send millions of soldiers to be slaughtered in the "great patriotic war". Fanaticism resulted in a reverse class system in China under Mao's rule.
Stalinists are Nazis that call themselves communists.
Maoists support a system that, rather than abolishing class, reverses it.
Get back to the basics people, do not lose your minds in the pursuit of revolutionary glory.

The best way to describe the revolution to those outside of communism would to be to call it a form of apocalypse. In it, the workers would sweep the world we know clean, and create the new world, a better world, a communist world. When the revolution begins, what will be required is for the revolutionaries to never yield, never retreat, and never surrender. In the end, we will win the day, and the global nation will come to be.
