I never heard or heard of this song or record label. and I love the Innocents as well as Kathy Young; I see it's written by Bruce Belland (Four Preps) and produced by the Indigo Records crew. what year is this, please, and where does it fit in their discography? Thanks!

I've only seen one other record on this label: John McKenney's beautiful "Angels In The Sky." Too bad this wasn't better recorded - these guys could obviously play!

Never heart the re-cut - miss the fullness, but that wonderful vocal blend is certainly there. Their great sax player is "missing," though; the trumpeters sound like they're seeing the sheet music for the first time.

The Cognacs actually had almost a hit, at least in NYC, with "Charlena," a roaring track also done by The Sevilles on JC. I don't know which was the original; both are rough, hard, wonderful and sound black as they come - very deep r&b. Either one is great; check them out!
