Mark Seibold Astronomy for the Public -- Solar Prophet for the Proletariat.

In May through June 2000 Mark Seibold of Portland Oregon provided and conducted a 10,000 mile solo road trip to bring solar astronomy to the public and schools across the US-Canadian Continent. Newspaper documentation and TV News reports documented the trip and his services. Mark interviewed and recorded in audio tape, several hundred to possibly over a thousand people in over one hundred hours of audio tape recordings while they were allowed to observe the sun directly through an h-alpha filtered solar telescope showing the surface activity of the sun, solar flares and sunspot activity during the solar maximum of 2000 ~ 2004. They were allowed to give their personal descriptions as he asked "How would you describe this to someone who has never seen this before?" The responses, many in foreign languages varied from French, German, Russian, Vietnamese, Greek, Bulgarian, and various English dialects across the Continent. The dialog ranged from the profound, sometimes enlightening, to humorous at other times. Mark continues to provide sidewalk astronomy still today, in his home town of Portland Oregon and abroad, overseas and cross-country road trips frequently for over a decade.

Please feel free to question, comment and/or criticize. Thank you for taking the time to listen and to enjoy this.
