About this user

Born in Texarkana, Texas, Cory started taking classes from Christal Phiffer School of Dance at 4 years old. At 6 years old, she started choreographing winning routines and was publicly acknowledged for her choreography in the 1992 Miss Petite Texarkana Pageant. She started teaching at 12 years old and was placed in the advanced class the same year. In 1997 the school was later taken over by Dyan Hallenbeck and renamed Dance Dynamics. In 1998 she was invited to audition for Junior Dallas Mavericks Dancer, for which she made 2 years in a row. Through high school she was a member of the Texas Highsteppers Drill Team, where she was voted best all around her freshman year, runner up for best dancer and made All American her sophomore year. In 2000 she received her Teachers Accreditation from her life long studio, which later that year had its final performance, closing its doors for retirement. Her Senior year she took a run at the studio life, opening Dynaco Dance Company. Deciding that owning a studio wasnt the career path she wanted, she then spent the next few years teaching for numerous studios, in and outside Texarkana. She competed for awhile, where still to this day her favorite award received is her Miss MTV Video award. Currently choreographing and teaching for Texarkana Dance Academy under Mrs. Traci Walker, she has built a hip hop program from the ground up. Traveled to study under choreographers such as Tony Testa, Dave Scott, Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo. In January of 2009, she was signed with DDO Artists Agency and currently planning her big move to Nashville, Tennessee. She is also judging dance competitions around the USA. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Drill Team, Swing, Cheerleading and Dance Team.
