It's amazing...at São Paulo Free Jazz, they got together Hancock (keyboard), Castro Neves (guitar), Ron Carter (b), Acuna (d) and the fabulous voice and piano of Ms. Horn, in a tribute to the greater Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Brasileiro Jobim. Tks. to bring this video.

Here a classic standard of Bossa Nova, with the magistral guitar touch of João Gilberto and the right sound of Stan Getz...but instead of Astrud, I would rather the voice of Diana Krall, and for sure Elis Regina.

For sure, its the best band of the Big Band era. The call-and-answer, the unique combination of metals, mainly the saxes, made the trade mark of this band. I didn't find et any show recorded of this band; anyway, its good to listen...

Les Elgart, in my opinion, is the best band from the Big Band epoque. I like mainly the arrangements of Charles Albertine. Anyway, the call-and-response was unique in this band. Please, bring more, whenever you have...

@karite57 Your daughter is right: unfortunatelly such a sweet melody stays in the last century... You need to go back to fly in the good tunes... But sometimes you may find yet great singers, like the "jazzy" Roberta Gambarini singing American standards...check this.

Gostei da "levada" dos músicos...a percussão deve ser brasileira, porque o estrangeiro não pega a batida da bossa, que é um misto de jazz e samba.... A cantora tem swing, mas sua pronúncia das 4 palavras em português é ...weird!
