@antlwar If you didn't have the RSL - would you have had time to get stable and the mind to do so before pulling the reserve? I'm terrified of this happening and questioning the use of an RSL. Thank goodness you kicked that out man!

I gotta say a bright big deploying parachute from my instructor would be a pretty clear sign to me to PULL and I think he should have done that at 2.5k minimum! Glad you're OK man. At least you scored another few seconds of freefall from that jump ticket! haha. I gotta ask, did you pass recer...

@angleseymassive Don't forget the cost of renting gear which is about 80 US dollars a day (or buying your own at $3000 but it's best to wait a bit to do that)

FYI - Everything see you see here is exactly what you DO NOT do in skydiving. So avoidable! Those guys had zero situational awareness of each other. Kind of pertinent given all the canopy collisions that have been going on lately. They don't usually end very well as we are rapidly finding out.

My AFF instructor was killed after 15,000+ jumps by colliding with the plane he jumped out of. It took off both of his legs at the knees. He landed (amazingly) on spot, but succumbed to the massive blood loss. RIP - BSBD! This was at Skydive DeLand a few years ago. :(

At about 28 seconds I was reaching behind my back for MY damn chute out of instinct (and I'm sitting at work in a tie and suit!) Why did you wait so long to pull? Just trying to be chignon or did you lose alti-awareness? CLOSE CALL!

I must have been under a rock, but I just discovered Matisyahu a couple days ago and "holy" crap! This guy is amazing. Props to him for tossing out some incredible music with a great message.
