"Corinthe is a four-piece experimental/hardcore band with some indie/hard rock roots, based in Sacramento, California. The band consists of Micah Wofford (guitar, lead vocals, keyboard), Isaac Domagalski (lead guitar, backing vocals, keyboard), Patrick Ramos (bass), and Spencer Sughrue (drums, backing vocals). The band is portayed by their heavy-to-clean/complex guitar riffs (with multiple effects used by Domagalski and Wofford), coarse bass riffs, intricate drum-lines, and harmonized vocals in which Wofford goes from clean (backed by Suhgrue) to scream (backed by Domagalski) varyingly.
Corinthe started in late 2006/early 2007 when a "battle of the bands" type show, called "Quadfest", was scheduled at Mira Loma high school. It started as an idea when Chris Hankins asked Domagalski to play guitar in a song for him for Quadfest. Domagalski accepted and word of the band spread quickly. Soon, Suhgrue and Ramos were recruited as members. But when Hankins left Mira Loma unexpectedly, Domagalski, Suhgrue, and Ramos were in need of a vocalist. They recruited Wofford as a second guitarist and then recruited Daniel Valdez as lead vocals. They called themselves "Tuna Leg".
In March 2007, the band's first Quadfest show at Mira Loma, the band played the song "The Prophecy" by metal band Dream Evil. But after negative feedback from fans and friends, the band made the decision to drop Valdez and Wofford took the position of lead vocals and Domagalski as backing vocals. They also wanted a new name to show that they were starting over, so they used random band name generators, and came up with Severe Aftermath as their final product.
Hoping for a better performance in the next show (scheduled for June 2007), the band chose a new song and practiced it. The song they chose was "I Just Got This Symphony Goin'" by The Fall of Troy. At the actual performance, though, they were cut off by the scheduled time limit. Furious, the band vowed they wouldn't play in Quadfest ever again, and Domagalski went to the extent of posting numerous bulletins on MySpace about the incident. But after thinking long upon the subject, they decided to stay in the roster for Quadfest. After deciding to stay in the running for Quadfest, they needed to cover a song since they hadn't written their own material yet, and the next Quadfest was scheduled for December 2007. They chose to play "F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X." by The Fall of Troy at their main song. There was a chance to play two songs but the opportunity passed. After a good performance this time, fans of the band had said that they should check out the local music scene. So the band has been currently looking into venues to "promote themselves and maybe make a little bit of cash" Wofford said.
The band recently changed their name from the former "Severe Aftermath", to their new name, "Corinthe". "People will hear the name 'Corinthe' and they will instantly think of your band," said Zac R, one of the band's fans. Corinthe is currently writing their own material. They plan on releasing an EP sometime in the near future, but are unsure as to exactly when that is going to be. They are also attempting to book shows at local venues including "Club Retro", "The Underground", and "The Upstairs". They hope to get their name out into the scene as soon as they can."
