COPD Matters

COPD Matters provides audio-visual information on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a respiratory illness that is a major cause of death and disability throughout the world. The latest World Health Organization (WHO) figures estimate that 210 million people are currently living with COPD and that more than 3 million people died from the disease in 2005, which corresponds to 5% of all deaths globally. The WHO predicts that COPD will become the third leading cause of death worldwide by 2030. The channel contains short video clips of COPD specialists to explain the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, and patients' perspectives of living with the disease. The channel is supported by Boehringer Ingelheim and Pfizer.
