Messi is only 24 and, in my opinion and those of many others, he is already better than everyone you listed with the exception of maybe Maradona and, to a lesser extent, Ronaldo. And he has arguably been more consistent than either one of those two.

Just an opinion though.

Maradona was a tough guy. In Spain he had to put up with the constant RACISM of Spaniards everywhere he went (sudaca! they'd yell at him), brutal fouls (goixoechea broke his ankle, Madrid team players would take turns to foul him),...yet he fought back. Best player ever.
