ConSentry delivers context-driven switching in two product families the LANShield Switch for the wiring closet and the LANShield Controller, which aggregates existing wiring closet switches to enable control. Built on custom silicon, both platforms deliver this control at LAN speeds.

Context-driven switching provides IT with rich visibility into and granular control over everything on the LAN. Rather than forwarding packets based on simple L2/L3 information, switches and controllers delivering context-driven switching understand user identity, role, application, device, destination, filename, and time of day and compare that information to policy to make forwarding decisions. ConSentrys platforms rely on deep packet inspection, driven by our LANShield custom silicon, to achieve rich understanding of traffic flows and enforce policy in real time, at LAN speeds.
