I am a Muslim convert from Catholicism. I became a Muslim twelve years ago. I want to share the stories of my brothers and sisters in Islam for the benefit of those who are interested.

If you are not interested then please don't bother to come and post any Islamaphobic rhetoric on this page.

Unfortunately Islam which is perfect is being judged by the behaviour of those who give to Islam a bad name. What we forget is that no one in this world today is perfect. Everyone is prone to errors and mistakes. However Islam offers a complete way of life which safeguards the individual and the community.

The detractors wish to place Islam in a bad light and we have to ask ourselves why? What difference is to them if Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. What difference is it to them if Islam can now be witnessed in most places around the world. Well it is a challenge to their own world which is led with desire and greed. How so, you may ask. Islam prohibits the following corruptions and vices:-
1. Homosexuality in any form.
2. Lewdness (pornography etc)
4. Intoxicants
5. Interest based loans
6. Adultery
All of the above are not prohibited in Western society rather they are embraced and welcomed and indulged upon. Yet history shows us that just 60 years ago these vices were prohibited. As the world has become more corrupt it has become a seeding ground upon which these vices cannot only be practiced but flourish.
Now, a man can marry a man or a woman can marry a woman. A man of the cloth (priest) can marry another priest. The pendulum has swung from extreme to extreme. A person can marry an animal.
The detractors would have you beleive that Islam is no better and to this end they bring spurious proofs, out of context verses and hadith, or unsubstantiated evidence. Once you answer them they do not accept the evidence placed before them. The quran is the spoken uncreated word of the Creator. In which their are proofs for everyone on the planet. At the end of the day it is your choose whether to accept or reject. However, your acceptance or rejection should be based on informed choice. After that no one is forcing you or encouraging you to become Muslim. Do as you see fit.

This war on terrorism is an artificially constructed war to further the aims of a few. If you asked the families of the people who have died was it worth it? What is their answer going to be! Afghanistan was the friend of America as it stood against Communism and ousted it from the country. Over time the capitalist west saw the opportunity to exploit a poor country. However the taliban led government didn't award the oil pipline contracts to America nor did they award the Telecom contracts to America. The result was they had to be removed and a puppet government put in place. We could write books about these things.

Just to backtrack, the detractors put great emphasise on trying to attack the character of the Prophet (peace be upon him). They pick out one or two incidents in which they feel they can sway public opionion. One of these areas is the marriage of the prophet to Aishah, the daughter of Abu Bakr. They play on the fact that she was only nine when the marriage was consumated. First of all this was a common practice to marry young girls in that time. Second it had the full backing of her father. Third, the enemies of Islam did not mention this incident as if it had been strange then you would have found much said about it. Fourth what was acceptable then you still find today throughout Africa. If we go back four hundred years ago things were far worse in Europe. There was a time that was dubbed the cradle weddings and the church had to step in and ban them. Finally even today we see things which are much stranger. Recently in America, a school found that 14 of the young girls there had become pregnant all around the sametime. They had taken a pact in which they pledged to become pregnant within a specific time scale. None of the girls were married they slept with people, some of whom were the same age as their fathers.

There is an old adage, 'People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.'

People would do well to study the message and reflect before making unnecessary outrageous statements.

All that said, I hope that you will enjoy these stories and maybe they will encourage you to read the quran with an open heart and mind.
