Communities In Schools is the nation's largest dropout prevention organization.

The Communities In Schools national office in Northern Virginia is part of the network of Communities In Schools local affiliates operating in 27 states and the District of Columbia. Through our nearly 200 independent affiliate organizations, we serve 1.2 million K-12 students each year in 3,200 public schools. Communities In Schools places a school-based coordinator onsite who identifies and brings together in one place the resources and services young people need to stay in school and graduate prepared for life.

Whether a student needs eyeglasses, tutoring, nutritious food or just a safe place to be, CIS finds the resources and delivers them right inside schools where kids spend their days.
