About Columbus Fire Rescue
The Columbus Fire Rescue Department (CFRD) is a combination career/volunteer department that provides fire and EMS services to the City of Columbus, MT, a municipality of about 2,000 residents, located in south central Montana (about 40 miles west of Billings). CFRD also provides emergency services to the Columbus Rural Fire District #3, which includes nearly 375 square miles of Stillwater County, 30 miles of U.S. Interstate 90, the towns of Reed Point and Rapelje along with an additional 3,000 residents. Our equipment includes three ambulances, one reserve ambulance four type 1 structure engines, including a ladder truck and 3,000 gallon pumper/tender, two additional 2,500 gallon tenders, one medium rescue truck, and several type 3 and 6 wildland engines.
