the two brothers carbon fiber slip on doesn't get that hot anyway. i can touch it with my bare hand after riding for hours and it is hot but won't burn my hand. i wouldn't be too worried about the heat, just make sure you have the spacing correct when you install the slip on so it's not too close...
i'm thinking that the guys on the bikes don't know how to hit the throttle!!!!!! i have a stock cbr 1000rr and have never been beat by a car. raced a bunch of fast cars too.
