is this lakeville lake in michigan? if so, i used to live on cantley and would always go out with my father on that lake and ride the sleds. we stopped traveling in the middle cuz we met the slush first hand.

the two brothers carbon fiber slip on doesn't get that hot anyway. i can touch it with my bare hand after riding for hours and it is hot but won't burn my hand. i wouldn't be too worried about the heat, just make sure you have the spacing correct when you install the slip on so it's not too close...
