This one of the most beautiful songs I know of. It is a mix between Opera and musical music... and many Opera singers do well to produce a cover of it.....

This man is the BEST. No matter what he sings.... I have heard others... but he is ALWAYS at the top... Causing one to wonder what he would have accomplished had he lived longer.......

Lanza does sing this beautifully.... But the MOST beautiful recording I ever heard of it was done by the greatest Tenor I know of... Fritz Wunderlich.

For a Soprano... and an Opera singer at that... She has such a breathy sound.... Usually that is frowned upon by people who sing opera... and not easy to achieve because of the way Opera is traditionally sung.... But her sound is her own........... and one of the loveliest I know among female Op...

I will say it till the day I die.... Though not well known.... He is the greatest Tenor that ever sung...........

This is so lovely..... BUT, if you want to hear this taken even up a notch from this level... find a recording of Fritz Wunderlich singing this aria.... It is pure heaven!

The 70's and 80's were what music was made of... the base is what everything was built on.... Everything else that followed, or came before, was built on the same.... This is the fundamental...... No wonder everyone who discovers this was there... is so amazed...

Lea Michele's version shows a thin voice.... This particular song requires a much bigger voice - such as Linda Eder's...... And Linda Eder's version shows how marvelous her technique and phrasing is.... This is the best I've heard this song sung....

The recorded version... when he was younger.... and able to reach all the notes in that version.... was absolutely amazing.

The scatting in this recording is so fascinating... A lost art! He has such a talent. No one today in popular music does this type of thing.... Such a shame....

Back in the day..... This may have been true.... A man would actually FEEL it, if someone treated him like this. New day... old lyrics.... Now, the men don't care...They just go on to the next female.... And don't even worry whether there was a reason............

Very HOT song.... Osborne is the MAN... He makes it all smooth..... and this is a wonderful example of what he can do.

Stevie Wonder's version is a rougher... more "EVERY MAN'S" version.... But still I LOVE this version. Luther made everything smooth.... and I FEEL him in this...

I know it isn't the song... or music... It is his way of singing and interpreting this music.... I do love Luther's version...... But Stevie Wonder seems to sing things as he feels them in his soul somewhere.... and it is Different...

I am waiting..... I know the man I love and I will get married.... And this will be the song we will have at our wedding...

I can only hope that Love is Written in the Stone......

Perhaps because of my age... I am one of the few who remembers when a Brother would sing about what he REALLY felt..... Not just what might make him able to "score" WOW! This is some of what really appeals to a person who knows that each human creature God created find different physical things...

One of those "you have to go there to know there" songs.

This is the version I was looking for. Fabulous. It is what I grew up hearing. This is from the time when people sang, but did not over-sing, dress wild, or mess things up with improper visuals. It is true talent, and the art of using your voice to let a great song itself.

I know that no matter how much time goes by... This song will always make you think of what came before... And it is SO hard.... Best of luck to all who hear it and have reason to connect it to their past.

Remember this song WELL..... Many a Liberian party spent dancing to this music..
