Democracy will inevitably lead to socialism, which is why our founding fathers wrote the Constitution. It is much easier to vote for wealth than to earn it.
Consider where wealth comes from. By providing another party something that is of value to them, they are willing to give you something of value to you in return. In a purely capitalistic society, the richest man has cured the most needs. Furthermore, the man who buys the most employs the most, for he has paid for those items.
Should each person be guaranteed a certain amount of wealth by their government? Remember, wealth comes from providing needs through a given effort. In order to receive wealth you did not earn, it must be taken from someone else. Such a situation would be theft of sufficed needs, and taking property from those willing to provide these needed goods hurts their ability to provide more goods to more people, and discourages them from doing so.
Ironically, socialism is an antisocial system.
